Isla App AB, a company registered in Sweden and trading as Book My Ride, is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

Account and contact data — name, email, phone number, employer or fleet, role and login credentials when you register or request a demo.

Booking and trip data — pickup and drop-off details, timestamps, vehicle and driver assignment, and messages you send through chat, WhatsApp or email that are processed into a booking.

Payment data — billing details and transaction records; card data is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processors and is not stored on our servers.

Usage and device data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and actions taken, collected through cookies and similar technologies to keep the service secure and reliable.

Location data — where a passenger or driver enables it, approximate or precise location is used to dispatch and track the ride in real time.

3. How and why we use your data

To provide the service — creating and dispatching bookings, matching the nearest vehicle, and operating the console and apps (legal basis: performance of a contract).

To improve and secure the platform — analytics, troubleshooting, fraud prevention and service development (legal basis: our legitimate interests).

To communicate with you — responding to demo requests, support and service notices (legal basis: contract or legitimate interests).

For marketing — only where you have opted in, and you can withdraw consent at any time (legal basis: consent).

To meet legal obligations — accounting, tax and lawful requests from authorities (legal basis: legal obligation).

4. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and keep you signed in, and, with your consent, analytics cookies to understand how the service is used. You can manage non-essential cookies through your browser settings or our cookie controls.

5. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with vetted service providers (hosting, analytics, communications and payment processors) acting as our processors under written data processing agreements, with the taxi operator fulfilling your booking, and with authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.

6. International transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union. Where any processing takes place outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep data

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes above — for the life of your account and booking records, and thereafter as required by accounting and tax law — after which it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time.

9. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk — encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging and least-privilege access — to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

10. Children

The service is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be signalled by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by notifying you directly.
